Front Porch Makeover with Annie Selke

Every summer I usually go to Idaho to visit my parents and work on projects around their home. Unfortunately this year all trips had to be cancelled so my mom and I worked together virtually to refresh their front porch. We set up a video call so I could direct her on where things should go in real time and how to best photograph the space so I could share with you all.

Here is a before from a few summers back of what the porch looked like…

We used some of their existing furniture from different areas and partnered with Annie Selke for the rug, curtains, poufs, fabric and pillows. My dad even made a bench from scratch and my mom used grasscloth wallpaper from Annie Selke to cover it for a unique textural feature piece. I’m so sad I don’t get to enjoy with them this summer! Here is the final result.

The wallpapered bench was one of my favorite parts of the transformation. Eventually we plan on attaching a plexiglass top to it and of course it will be taken inside during the winters. Here is what it looked like before the wallpaper. We ended up making it a bit larger but the construction was very simple.

The large pet bed is perfect for their cat Potter.

While their dog Grace prefers the comfort of the chairs reupholstered in fabric from Annie Selke.

Summer evenings on the porch are truly amazing in Idaho and having a comfortable space makes all the difference.

I’ll be back next summer…

For now, I’ll enjoy this incredible transformation from afar…
