Marrakesh - Agafay Desert - Essaouira

Day 1 : Arrival to Marrakech
Welcome to Morocco! Arrive at the airport RAK in Marrakech and transfer to your riad to meet your fellow travelers at a welcome dinner on the roof.
Welcome dinner with the group included. Airport transfer included.
Day 2 : Marrakech city
In the morning we meet with our local guide and set off on a morning tour of the old medina as well as a palace. After, we will walk through the bustling souks that are the lifeblood flowing through the city. We will then explore tranquil courtyards filled with the scent of orange blossom and then visit a spice herbalist to learn about local oils and spices. Later that evening we will meet up for a group dinner.

Day 3 : Marrakech city
Explore Marrakech at your own rhythm in the morning. After lunch we are visiting a Cooperative of Rugs to practice bargaining which is a fun experience and tradition in Morocco. At the Cooperative you will find beautiful handmade rugs of all shapes, sized and colors for purchase. Shipping home can easily be arranged here. After, we will enjoy drinks on a rooftop followed by dinner.

Day 4 : Marrakech – Agafay Desert
The morning is free to explore further or shop in the winding bazaar. After lunch we then hit the road for a picturesque hour-long drive out of Marrakech to the desert. You'll head south of the city and across the Haouz Plain, with views of the High Atlas Mountains, until you reach your far-flung desert destination: Agafay. Unlike the Sahara and its undulating sand dunes, Agafay is composed of stunning rock formations; its remoteness and tranquillity make this unique and serene retreat a must-see. On arrival will get our tents (private bathrooms in each tent) and set off for a camel ride before we come back for our dinner and camp fire under the stars.

Day 5 : Agafay desert – Essaouira City
In the morning we have 4 hr drive to the coast and Essaouira city, one of the most beautiful cities along the Atlantic coast of Morocco built by the Portugeese in the 16TH century.
Essaouira is a colourful fishing town with its Portuguese fortifications, where great beaches and surf beckon. Relax on the beach or alternatively explore the UNESCO-listed medina with its various souks and woodcarving workshops.

Day 6 : Free day at Essaouira
Today we have the whole day to explore and enjoy Essaouira. Relax and enjoy an invigorating hammam scrub + massage (included) after, spend more time exploring the medina, art galleries and shops. That evening join the group for an optional activity at the beach, watching the sun go down with food and drinks.

Day 7 : Essaouira – Marrakech
After breakfast we take a 3 hr drive back to Marrakech for our last evening and recall our amazing adventure at the farewell dinner.

Day 8 : Flight back home
Say goodbye to Morocco and your new friends. Transportation will be provided to the airport RAK
