This is not your average Tokyo itinerary, we are not hitting the “top sights”. I want to show you Japan the way I like to experience it. Of course there will be tourism everywhere but trying to get off the beaten path is my goal. This trip is focused on vintage shopping, good food, art, and nature. There is plenty of free time scheduled for you to go discover everything you want to see on the trip as well. Go get lost somewhere. Truly, sometimes the best things happen by chance when you’re strolling around Japan.

The temperatures will range from 50’s/60’s at night up to 70’s/80’s in the day.

There is a large amount of walking on this itinerary.

Day 1

Welcome to Tokyo! You will meet your fellow travelers, get settled in at the hotel, enjoy a welcome dinner with the group.

Included: Assistance from the airport (HND only) to the hotel, Dinner

Day 2

Take the morning to relax. We’ll start the day off at my favorite ramen restaurant and then head out to a local neighborhood with our guide where we will explore the artistic shops in the area. That evening we will have dinner and drinks with the group where you can try an array of Japanese food.

Included: Breakfast, Tea Ceremony, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3

We will meet our local guide this morning and visit a temple and experience a traditional fire ceremony followed by a shrine. Afterward, we will will grab lunch and take a walk through a park to the contemporary art museum. Dinner that night will be a 14 piece sushi tasting.

Included: Breakfast, Temple, Museum, Dinner

Day 4

This morning we head out to a HUGE flea market, if it’s raining I’ll take you to my favorite vintage shopping area instead. The afternoon and evening are free for you to explore on your own.

Included: Breakfast

Day 5

We will spend time in nature today, an hour by public transportation to a park where we will rent bikes and enjoy the scenery. You have the afternoon and dinner free to yourself. That evening, optional meet up for drinks at Golden Gai.

Included: Breakfast, bike rental

Day 6

Today is a free day for you to go and explore anything you have on your list of must-sees in Tokyo. Maybe we should go get tattoos?? We will meet up that evening for our farewell dinner.

Included: Breakfast, Dinner
