One Room Challenge Week 2

It’s week two and things are moving along. The upper cabinets were removed!

Now, while I was determined to remove the upper cabinets, I wasn’t ready to loose all the storage, so we found a way to reconfigure the cabinets to the side of the counter creating more of a pantry situation. It was pure luck that they fit just right, stacked on top of each other and attached to the wall with screws. Now we can enjoy the best of both worlds, storage + open shelves.

Somehow the only shot I took of these cabinets at this point had my ramen lunch on the counter so there you have it. Enjoy.

And now I present to you… the worst mock-up ever. I put this together when I first started thinking about what I wanted to do in the kitchen. A few things have changed (the lights and the rug) but the tiles will look a bit like this with a nice big shelf that runs across the wall. I promise it will be much more exciting of a reveal then what this looks like haha. Plus I may, or may not, have some painting plans for the ceiling…

That’s all you get for now, until next week!
